Timothy first began practicing meditation and studying energy healing in the mid-1990s, this is when he was first exposed to Reiki.
In 1998, he joined the U.S. Army as an infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division, 187th Infantry Regiment, and the 1st Infantry Division, 2nd Bn, 2nd Infantry Regiment. During his seven years of honorable service, he attained the rank of Sergeant, deployed three times with combat in Iraq from 2004 to 2005.
When the uniform is hung up, service does not end. In 2007, Mr. Grossman became a professional advocate for nationally chartered DAV, a 501(c)(4) veterans organization representing 1.2 million veterans nationally. He later went to work for Wounded Warrior Project® in Washington, D.C. the nation's premier voice for Post 9/11 wounded, ill, and injured, whose programs encompass mind, body, and engagement.
It was within these later years he collaborated and witnessed the growth that holistic programming had on the minds, bodies, and spirits of the traumatized persons and families.
During his 10 years as a professionally accredited veterans' advocate, Mr. Grossman personally impacted the lives of over 65,000 warriors and families from all eras. The impact of the efforts of the teams he led, mentored, and collaborated with is uncountable.
From 2016 to 2020, Mr. Grossman began to approach his personal recovery through reengaging with meditation techniques, retreats, holistic programming, and the support of a team of caring medical professionals. Through this process, he became a Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher. Part and parcel refining his studies to teach mindfulness and meditation as a co-modality.
Over time with daily self-practice, he found that feelings of anger, despondence, self-blame, hypervigilance, survivor’s guilt, terror, and shame associated with the actions of combat began to ease. Realizations would take place, and increasing levels of awareness and acceptance would emerge.
“It is my perception that Reiki helped and continues to help with healing on multiple levels, equally with physical, mental, and emotional issues. Through Reiki and mindful practice, our deeper awareness compels us to become our authentic selves. This process is different and unique to each person, but I have seen it work in others time and time again."
Mr. Grossman's desire is to help all who seek it, especially those who have experienced trauma or illness in all its forms, to experience the benefits of Reiki and mindful awareness. If they so desire, to learn and develop a personal practice as a means to enhance their healing of mind, body, and spirit so as to honor, empower and promote healing unique to each person.
Likewise, Mr. Grossman is dedicated to the advancement of the acceptance of Reiki as a complementary modality within the medical community as the evidence continues to support rather than contradict its viability and validity as our understanding deepens and broadens.
Why? Because the modality of Reiki has thus far been scientifically shown to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and initiate healing on multiple levels. In many cases, studies suggest, with regular treatments, proper medical care, and maintenance, the body's own healing mechanisms often begin functioning more effectively.
